ABSTRACT: The Antenatal unit within the outpatient Department of a hospital provides medical consultation and care to expectant mothers before to childbirth. Antenatal care is the provision of comprehensive care for both the mother and foetus, with the primary objective of ensuring optimal foetal development and minimising the risk of congenital abnormalities. This includes monitoring the mother's nutritional intake, recommending appropriate exercise regimens, doing regular scans and pathology tests, and advising on the importance of rest. The objective of this project is to develop and deploy a computerised system that provides timely information on Antenatal care to facilitate decision-making. The focus of this study is the Parklane Specialist Hospital Enugu, where the aim is to improve upon the current manual Antenatal information system by enhancing reliability, accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
